Personal Profiles

Laurence Leone

Hi, I’m Laurence. I have been fortunate enough to work with nature almost since I could walk, I started by helping in my grandparents, and other family members gardens. By the time I was 13 I was looking after 5 gardens. My passion soon evolved when I saw the negative human impact we can have on this planet. To speed up my learning I attended Writtle College, my time there allowed me to transend further into tree work and the world of lantra and N.P.T.C short courses. My aim is to provide sustainable products and an efficient service to aid both man and nature. I hope you enjoy the experience we provide and I welcome you to meet my staff.

Sharon Field

More often than not, I am the person on the end of the phone when calls come through to Maple. I have been working with Laurence and the team for just over a year, and luckily I enjoy a challenge!

Sam Butler

Hi, my name is Sam Butler and I have been in the game for just over a year now and I am at college studying Horticulture for my NVQ level 2. I am enjoying working outside and being part of a team with my work mates. I am hoping to do more qualifications such as my NVQ in machines level 3 and my climbing and chainsaw certificates. I am very passionate about my work.

Paul Smith

Paul Smith I am Paul Smith, and I’ve been working for Maple for 3 years. My role is the head climber as well as grounds maintenance supervisor.

I started working outdoors on farms and shooting estates on the Suffolk/Cambridge border. I then went on to the Milton Agricultural and Horticultural College and studied First Diploma and National Diploma in Game and Countryside Management. Whilst at college I worked for the National Trust as a Forester as well as the Gardens Department. When I passed my course I went on to work for Town and Country Tree Surgery and Cambridge Arborists where I worked in all aspects of tree work. I then went to work for an Anglia Water contractors, maintaining all treatment sites in south essex. I am now proud to be working for Maple and working with such a good team.

Sub contractors

Barry Stanton

I have been working with Maple on a sub-contractor basis for nearly a year and also undertake my own jobs. I have over 15 years experience in the tree surgery industry and have an extensive knowledge of tree related pests and diseases. My role at Maple mainly involves tree surgery but I also undertake garden maintenance when required.

Dan Forrester

Dan Forrester I am Daniel, the landscape foreman. I have been involved in the landscape business for 16 years, the majority of which I have spent working for some big national companies, working on some multimillion pound contracts up and down the country. For the last year I have been working for Maple and I much prefer the personal touch and quality service a smaller local company like Maple can provide for its customers.

Paul Atkinson

I’m the new chap; I plan to work for Maple on the grounds / gardens side of things as well as undertaking my own small jobs. My previous roles have included working with a team of tree surgeons, I have undertaken pesticide spraying and have also worked for the London Borough of Redbridge parks maintenance for over 10 years. The team at Maple have made me very welcome and I look forward to establishing my role within the team.
